Hello John,

It’s been quite a while since we met at Manhattan but I hope that everything continues to go well with you and Jasper Jottings.

After overcoming a few bumps in the road, I’ll be heading back to Ethiopia soon from NJ to continue my long time involvement in our Addis Hope program.

I’m very grateful to you for being a past donor/partner of that program. I’m including an attachment on how you can continue to assist really needy and deserving children. The attachment needs some fine tuning that I’ll work on when I return to Ethiopia.

God bless,
Greg

ADDIS HOPE CONTINUES!!!

I hope this finds you doing well since you last got an Addis Hope program e-mail from me ( July, 2012) stating that for a number of reasons, including my precarious health situation, that it would be best to close the program. I thanked my webmasters/cousins, Margaret and Bert McConnell and Mary Ellen Rabb for their many years of really devoted service to the program and understood their need to “retire” though the program wouldn’t be the same without their expertise.

I’m happy to report that my colleague and program founder, Ruth Girmay, managed to keep the program afloat during my lengthy convalescence. Since 2012, I have had several CAT scans that indicated that I have remained cancer free, thank the good Lord.

Ruth and I agreed to reopen the web site locally under a similar name that will provide further info.

Brother William Martin, who is a member of the Christian Brothers community in Lincroft, NJ and a good friend as well as competent administrator, has agreed to funnel any checks received for the program to our account at Christian Brothers Investment Services from which I can have funds wired to the Addis Hope account in Addis Ababa for the operating expenses of the program.

A recent UNESCO report stated that Ethiopia ranked third in the world after Nigeria and Pakistan in the number of children without access to education, one million seven hundred thousand.

Even so, during its last eleven years of operation Addis Hope has graduated more than a thousand kindergarten age children who have gone on to continue their schooling in government institutions.

This, of course could only have happened because of your generous support.

I realize that you are called upon to support many worthy causes and only hope that you continue to think of Addis Hope as one that you can continue to support. As in the past, I ask $150 to sponsor a child knowing that it actually costs more and hope that those who are able will increase their donation.

God bless,

Br. Greg Flynn (Jack)

P.S. I am currently in my home community CBA, Lincroft, NJ but will be returning to Ethiopia shortly. Should you need more info, my cell is {Privacy Invoked} and e-mail, {Privacy Invoked}
